Lyptus is a fully sustainable, environmentally managed hardwood. Yet it also has the beauty of mahogany, the durability of maple, and the versatility and value of Showplace.
Lyptus is a
truly renewable hardwood species. Grown on sustainably-managed plantations in South America, lyptus is a naturally-occurring hybrid of eucalyptus. It is harvested in as little as 15 years (not 50 or 75 years) and does not deplete old-growth forests. Lyptus strikes an important balance between human needs and environmental concerns.
Unlike most other fast-growing woods, lyptus is a true high-grade hardwood. The hardness of lyptus is similar to that of maple. Showplace lyptus is offered in almost all of our door styles, and in a wide range of
stains and
Vintage finishes.
